ICICI Bank is the largest private retail bank in India with assets worth over US$ 20 billon. It has around 540 branches and 1790 ATMs across the country. The bank required a cost-effective and efficient solution to manage its growing infrastructure across multiple locations. The need of the hour was a customizable, flexible, easy-to-deploy Infrastructure Management Solution that would integrate the organizations space, property and assets.

Client Objectives

The immediate need of the hour was developing an enterprise-wide solution for managing ICICI's facilities and regional hubs at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. In addition, an effective web based solution also needed to be chalked out in the areas of Property Management. Space Management System, Asset Procurement & Management System, Asset Movement tracking, Maintenance & Contract Management System, Central Cost Payment System and Vehicle Hiring System.

The Challenge

The challenge was to manage ICICI's mammoth facilities and maintain information on-line for over 500 concurrent users at any given point in time. Besides, the enterprise system had to be integrated with the current network infrastructure. The development environment has to be built on ASP/VB.Net. a-mantra had also to facilitate availability and smooth data collection in large facilities across multi locations.

a-mantra Steps In

a-mantra enabled Visual representation of spaces, assets and facilities, provided for Spatial Database Management, Policy Restrictions based on levels and customized and system generated reports with spatial linking. Centralized Property Maintenance & Management Systems populating local data and centralized Procurement and Contracting Systems were also developed. A comprehensive system for managing all the stationery inventory at regional offices for better customer services was also enabled.

a-mantra successfully implemented integration with ICICI Universe Portal and provided web enabled Space, Property and Asset Management solutions. All property, right from initial identification to purchase to disposal, could now be tracked within this system. Office Spaces within the various large offices was also documented with this solution.

Value Delivered

With the a-mantra solution in place ICICI Bank is expected to recover the cost of implementation in year 1 by using the revenue asset procurement itself. Further, ICICI is experiencing tangible value in several other areas as well. There was significant improvement in internal customer satisfaction, Work Space Management was now automated leading to smooth work flow, innumerable cost savings was brought in by eliminating improper space allocation that earlier had a negative impact on costing and pricing of infrastructure loading in Cost Centers. Since a-mantra was accessible across location with defined user privileges, all Process NVAs were significantly reduced. Annual savings expected to be several hundred thousand dollars.
